Exactly a year ago on the 25th of July 2020 at exactly 4:26am, the Holy Spirit woke me up from sleep with a Word. I know this because I immediately typed it on my Whatsapp chat with my husband and sent it to him. It was one of those days.
I could hear Him clearly say, ‘The Church Is Not A Marketplace!’ It was so clear that He began to teach me and take me through the Scriptures. After typing everything and sending it to hubby, I launched out in prayer. The Word was heavy on my heart and I wanted to scream over the rooftops and tell the world what the Lord had said, “The Church Is Not A Marketplace!”
At 6:18am, hubby sends a message.”Yehowa! Please don’t post it but a deep revelation from God” I replied with “hmmmm”.
I didn’t post it because hubby said so. We usually run things by each other when we have to post on social media. But a year on, the Holy Spirit reminded me of this same Word in this month of July. It was quite strange that in this same month of July last year, He had given me this same Word. I had to go back to our chats from last year to bring this up. It’s been so heavy on my heart that this time, I decided to post. The message reads,
“The church is now a market place! Sadly men of God have allowed the world to penetrate the church. It is no longer the case for Bible believing Christians to preach the message of salvation and hope to the world as directed by Jesus in Mark 16:15 “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Now selling has become a thing in the church as was the days of old when Jesus threw away the tables of the money changers in Matthew 21:12-13 “And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.” I didnt know forex trading (money changing) occurred during Jesus’ time. Let us be mindful of the things we do unconsciously! You can decide to operate outside the confines of the church even though the Bible admonishes us not to conform to the world as stated in Romans 12:2 AMP “Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].” Turning God’s flock, that is your church members into moneychangers, making the church a den of thieves instead of a house of prayer, goes against the very principles Jesus stood for.”
