START AFRESH

by Brenda

Another year is upon us and it’s such a blessing to see the light of day! Indeed our God is faithful! Year in year out, we enter the year with high hopes, new resolutions, and new mindsets believing that all our heartfelt desires and plans will come to fruition!

Along the line when the turbulence hits, we begin to question whether the year was truly meant for us. That’s when our faith withers, and then we are tossed by the wind to and fro.

Oh God, why me! What have I done to deserve this? When will it be my time to succeed?

This honest call on God reminds me of Scripture in Proverbs 16 vrs 9, that indeed we make our plans, but God directs our actions.

It’s 2022, dear friend, is there a way we can do things differently this year?

Personally, I have decided not to make any resolutions this year. I just really and truly want to find out how things would turn out when I totally depend on God.

There’s something about surrendering your life wholly to God! He works things out just perfectly and beautifully in His own time.

So today let’s start afresh! Let’s try again, once more. Like me, you are probably used to writing down your goals and starting the year your way, but can we try it God’s way?

Say this with me, “God it’s 2022, I don’t know what the future holds, but I know You hold the future! I don’t know what the beginning of this year entails or what the end is going to look like, but I’m certain that You know the beginning from the end! I surrender my life to You. My health, my business, my finances, my children, my family, my job and all that which concerns me, are covered by Your blood. I align my desires with Your will. Take absolute control, Lord. If there is any year I’m trusting you fully with, it’s 2022! Thank you Lord for your covering! In Jesus name I pray, Amen”.

This is all you need to start afresh this year.

Commit your ways to the Lord and He will establish your steps!

2020 taught us that tomorrow is not promised! In 2022, we are starting the year with God. In Him and with Him alone.

This year, learn to normalize saying “Godwilling.” “Are you coming to the party?” “Godwilling.” “Are we meeting tomorrow?” “Godwilling.” “Let’s talk in the morning.” “Godwilling.”

God has a way of humbling us when we hold our plans too tight.

Behold, we are out with the old and in with the new! Let’s learn to walk faithfully with Him knowing that He plans to prosper us, and not harm us, to give us a future and a hope! Have a blessed 2022!
