Today’s woman crush #womeninspire is none other than Ghanaian educator and founder of the WIT School, Precious Bonsu.

Precious is one of the many women changing the narrative in the educational sector, and over the last week, her name has been ringing in my head incessantly. When I began researching into her, I discovered why it was necessary to shed light on her. Her mission to teach is yielding results!

The journey for Precious began as far back in 2012, when she took the step to join the Miss Ghana beauty pageant. Though she didn’t win, she never looked back, and bit by bit she was inching closer to making her mark as an educator.

From voice overs to hosting a kids’ radio show, ‘Miss P’ as she is fondly called, won the hearts of many kids, and her passion to serve led to the establishment of Treasure Kids Media, a 360 publishing, advertising and media company with a niche in creating and marketing kids and teens’ products and services.

With Treasure Kids, she authored five children’s books and published the Treasure Kids Newspaper, a monthly publication for children aged 7 to 14. She also launched a literacy program called Sponsor a School (SAS) to encourage the reading culture and give back to society.

Her passion for literacy and lifelong learning didn’t end there. She went on to establish a book bug club for kids and subsequently founded the Wisdom and Intelligence Training School (WIT School), which started as an after school club, and transitioned into a learning centre. Her TAP2EDUCATE initiative allowed her to volunteer as a tutor and mentor for public school children.

Beyond her achievements, Precious is the host of Play and Learn on GHOne TV. She is also a public speaker and the Founding Director of Whale Communications, a 360 PR and communications company which specializes in Public Relations consultancy, marketing communications and training executives in public speaking. She also tutors at Lancaster University in Ghana.

Today I celebrate you, Precious! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with the world! Thank you for giving children a unique learning experience and bringing fun learning to our homes! Thank you for educating and nurturing the next generation of change agents and future leaders! Thank you for pursuing your passion to teach, investing in education and dedicating your time to the cause of children! Thank you! Thank you for being a woman who inspires! #womeninspire #womancrushwednesday
