HAPPY NEW YEAR 2023!

by Brenda

Wheeeew! What a year 2022 has been! Where do I even start from?

I entered the year with so much poise and purpose! Ready to kick off my goals!!!!

Yaaaay!!!! I made it, and I said to myself that I’m going to make the most out of the year.

But life happens when we’re busy making other plans!

In 2022, besides the financial crisis, I was tossed to and fro by the wind, fell so many times, cried a bucket, felt hopeless and yet God was always there, and faithful was He!

I can’t begin to thank God for the many times He showed up for me.

For those quiet moments where He spoke to me and taught me so much about life.

I didn’t ever think that I would be mentally and emotionally broken from all the issues of life.

But then again, I did not guard my heart, so what was I expecting, huh?

Some 14 years ago, I fell helplessly in love with a man who was destructive to me.

I didn’t know at the time because I trauma bonded, it was not until he cheated that everything started to make sense.

He never chose me. This girl had always been in the picture, purported to be his sister! Imagine the shock in finding out that I was never the ONE!

Human nature! I didn’t know narcissists existed, I didn’t know gaslighting was a thing, I didn’t know manipulation had various tactics, oh I didn’t know so many things!

My year was pretty rough because this discovery of this person I was married to, shook my entire being.

Towards the end of the year, God blessed me as He always does, with two books; A Girl’s Best Friend and Dealing With Adultery and Abusive Marriages.

It was such a relief to finally be able to speak my truth, and what God is doing with these books is mind-blowing!

I’m so grateful and thankful that I entered 2023 with so much GRATITUDE!

If I tell you I don’t have resolutions yet, it’s because I’ve seen that as humans we make our plans but God directs our actions.

I’m excited because I turn 30 this year, and I’m happy that I can start life all over devoid of the mistakes of my 20s.

Well, I’m not immune from making mistakes, but I’m just happy that I have someone to walk me through those mistakes! His name is JESUS!

So bring it on 2023! I’M READY! For the new goals, the new opportunities, the great networks, the business ideas, the friendships, the faithful walk with God, the prayer lifestyle, the family reunions, the smiles from strangers, and the hope from God.

Thank you God for my life, my health, my sanity, my son, my friends, my shop, my books, my blog, my business, my family and all the good things in life! This YEAR is my year of PASSIONATELY PURSUING GOD!
