ANGELA BAMFORD

by Brenda

Today’s woman crush #womeninspire is none other than newscaster and entrepreneur Angela Bamford.

Angela is one of the young ladies making waves in this country by telling the unique stories of Africans, through her show, TLS on GH One TV. We haven’t met personally but she is such a delight to watch on screen with her unique interviewing skills and her ability to relate well with guests.

Angela began her career in the creative arts at
an early age of 16. From singing with the trio girl group D3 which included MzVee and Samira Buari, to modelling at Exopa Model Agency, to acting, to hosting shows on TV, Angela tried her hands on them all.

Now 25, Angela can boast of having worked with 4syte TV as lead presenter and Econet Media’s Kwese TV on the Arena Show. She now reads the business news on Business Brief on the GH One.

Prior to seeing Angela reading the news, I had watched her a couple of times on the TLS show and, particularly, the episode on the tale of professional wailers caught my attention. Not only did she dress like them, but she was able to ask the right questions and to bring to light the craft which was otherwise unknown to many.

From that interview onward, I looked out for her and she was such a natural behind the camera, engaging her audience in the best way possible. Even though she has a Diploma in Liberal Arts from high school and read communications in college, there are some things that are just not taught in school. Her vocal dexterity is one to behold.

Angela is an entrepreneur and the founder of the Real Shea Company, producers of an eco-friendly shea butter, oil and extracts carefully crafted for the skin and hair.

Today I celebrate you, Angela! Thank you for teaching us the power of embracing our humble beginnings! Thank you for showing us we can be young and purposeful! Thank you for telling the unique stories of the African citizen and shedding light on the many areas of our lives that go overlooked! Thank you for teaching us the value of progress and not perfection! Thank you! Thank you for being a woman who inspires! #womeninspire #womancrushwednesday
